Press ⇧⌘6, drag over anything, and copy the text in it — or the image. That's it.

How to test

  1. Install. Open the DMG and drag Screenie into Applications.
  2. Allow it once. This beta isn't notarized, so macOS will block the first launch. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway.
  3. Take a capture. Press ⇧⌘6 and allow Screen Recording when asked. If nothing happens afterwards, quit and reopen Screenie.
  4. Try it. Drag over some text. ⌘C copies the text, Return copies the image. The first launch needs about a minute before text is ready.

Found a bug? Reply where you found this link, with what you did and your macOS version. Heads-up: your last 30 captures are kept on your Mac as taken, before any edits — clear them from the menu bar icon.
